Ashwini Balu is an architectural historian whose work engages with architecture and theory, with a research focus on Adivasi histories and marginalised spatial narratives. She approaches architecture not merely as isolated buildings, but as intersections of people, culture, landscape, and everyday practices, situating the built environment within broader social and political contexts. Her academic interests lie in exploring the relationship between architecture, society, culture and politics, and in questioning dominant historical narratives through lived experience and critical reading.
