Usman Pakkath is an artist and educator based in Kerala. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the Government College of Fine Arts, Thrissur, and the S. N. School of Arts and Communication, Central University of Hyderabad, respectively. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at KMEA College of Architecture.
His interest in curriculum planning and academic mentoring led him to actively contribute to the development of the Integrated Design Studio programme. He has worked as an academician in various prestigious institutions across India, engaging in public art projects, artist residencies and exhibitions. Selected projects include the “Baked Earth” community art project at Parudur, Kerala (2015), and “Las Indias” at the International Theatre Festival of Kerala, Thrissur (2011).
Usman is a recipient of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademy Scholarships in 2010 and 2012. His selected exhibitions and curatorial projects include the curation of the “Uruvam” Community Art Project at Janakeeya Vayanasala Ponkunnam, Kottayam (2023) and the Avani Institute of Design, Calicut (2019), “Carnal Apple”, a solo exhibition at the Parudur Library Recreation Center, Kodikkunnu, Kerala.
